William Cohen

William Cohen is Associate Provost and Dean for Undergraduate Studies. He oversees programs that enhance undergraduate education across campus, including the Honors College, College Park Scholars, Academic Achievement Programs, Letters and Sciences, the National Scholarships Office, and Maryland Fellows.

His office facilitates students’ curricular and co-curricular activities, research undertakings, and global engagement. It also promotes increased access to higher education and degree completion. These priorities enhance student success, enrich the campus community, and contribute to the university’s national reputation.

Dean Cohen has served in his role since 2015. He is a Professor of English and former chair of his department.
