A Fresh Look for elevate.umd.edu and erp.umd.edu

You may notice a refreshed look and feel on both elevate.umd.edu and erp.umd.edu. We’ve updated these sites to a more advanced web platform that supports a cleaner, more modern experience and positions us well for future enhancements.

This upgrade also brings both websites more in line with UMD’s latest branding and current web trends intended to make browsing easier and more user-friendly. One of the most notable improvements is a new collapsible navigation menu that you can toggle on or off by clicking the icon in the top left corner of the site on all pages.

Check out the new look now on erp.umd.edu or elevate.umd.edu.

Explore the Workday Student Learning Hub — Your Go-To Resource for Workday Student Knowledge!

We are excited to share the Workday Student Learning Hub, a central place for all things related to the upcoming Workday Student system. Whether you're a student, faculty, or staff, this hub is designed to help you find useful information — all in one easy-to-use spot. As the hub grows, it will become a central space not just for resources, but for connection and continuous development.

What Is the Workday Student Learning Hub?

The Learning Hub is your go-to knowledge center for the Workday Student at UMD. It brings together key resources and explanations so you can:

  • Quickly find what you need,
  • Explore important topics at your own pace, and
  • Build confidence in using the new system.

What You’ll Find Inside the Hub

The Learning Hub includes curated content across key functional areas of the Workday Student experience, such as:

Academic Foundation

Academic Foundation in Workday Student is the core setup that defines how academic structures are organized in the system. It includes elements like academic periods, programs, plans, and courses, which together create the framework for registration, advising, and degree progress. Current topics include Academic Calendar, Academic Unit, and Program of Study.

Curriculum Management & Registration

Curriculum Management & Registration in Workday Student connects academic offerings to the student experience by organizing programs, courses, academic requirements, and rules into a clear and structured path. Registration brings that structure to life by enabling students to search for classes, build schedules, validate eligibility, and enroll in courses. Current topics include Courses and Course Sections and Prerequisites & Prerequisite Overrides.

Student Records & Core Information

Student Records & Student Core are foundational parts of Workday Student. Student Records manages a student’s academic history, including course registrations, grades, transcripts, and academic standing. Student Core houses essential student information, such as personal details, academic program, enrollment status, and key system interactions including Student Onboarding and Third Party Permissions.

Workday Core Concepts

Workday Core Concepts introduces the key ideas that form the foundation of the system. Current concepts include Business Processes, which outline how tasks move through Workday; User Roles, which define the different types of users and their experiences; Reporting, which provides access to real-time data and insights within the system;  Effective Dating, which allows changes to take effect on specific future or past dates; and Student Eligibility Rules, which determine the criteria that define who is permitted to perform specific actions—such as registering for a course or accessing certain tasks.

Built for Continuous Learning

As Workday Student development continues, the Learning Hub will expand with more content, examples, and helpful guides. It’s meant to grow with the needs of our campus community — so check back regularly as the project progresses.
