The Student Profile

The Student Profile

Please note: this webpage is intended for learning purposes only and is designed to illustrate Workday functionality. It does not represent UMD’s final decisions or plans for using the Student Profile.

In Workday, every student has a Student Profile—the go-to hub for everything they need during their time at UMD. From academic progress to important tasks and key information, it’s all in one place, designed to be easy to use and navigate.

The Student Profile brings together the tools and details that students use most, helping them to stay organized and on track throughout the semester.

On the left-hand side, they find Profile Groups, which organize information into clear categories like academics, personal information, and important tasks. Within each group, Profile Cards appear at the top of the page, giving students quick access to specific details and actions.

This simple, layered design makes it easy to find what they need, take action, and keep moving forward—making the Student Profile the central starting point for everything in Workday Student.

Different activities in Workday Student, such as coursework, may change the information displayed on a student’s profile, as it updates to reflect their progression at UMD.

Please note: The Profile Cards and Profile Groups shown on this page are delivered by Workday and are configurable. Final decisions have not yet been made, and the tabs displayed may vary by user.

Let’s dive deeper into each of these Profile Groups that may appear on the Student Profile.

Example:

Once a day, Bill checks his Student Profile and often visits his Academics Profile Group, where he can keep track of his current classes and view his Academic Progress Report. During the semester, Bill reviews his Action Items and Holds Profile Group to view any holds on his account that may affect his ability to register for classes. During the Continuing Student Onboarding, Bill can visit the Personal or Contact Profile Group to review and update his personal information.
